Give a boy a flying model and he'll forget what he thought was so
important about those video games. Give one to a young lady and she just
might imagine herself in a career she never thought of before. I want to
make it easy for you to offer this experience to any class, church group,
scout troop, Civil Air Patrol unit or other youth group you might run. I
can offer you student rates on just about any of my kits, so don't hesitate
to write me to ask for a custom package.
This special package will get your students into the air more quickly
and at lower cost than any other rocket-powered product. You will enjoy
costs of less than $2.50 per student and build times of as little as twenty
minutes! Individual aircraft for 12 students are packaged with a single rocket
booster that launches three aircraft at a time. Each student experiences
a rocket launch of her own model, yet you can launch all twelve students
with only four motors, cutting your flying costs by two thirds. Each group
of 3 students can enjoy competing to see which aircraft remains aloft the
longest!
How About a Birthday Party?
The G-Pack builds so quickly enough that you could actually use the
Elcie as a party favor! Start the party with a quick building session, let
the models dry while the kids eat and play a few games, then bring out the
launcher for a spectacular end to the festivities. You know how much
children love the excitement of a flying model. Now you can be creative and
bring that excitement into all sorts of activities.
Inside the Pack
The new Elcie aircraft is assembled from five laser cut pieces and
requires no adjustment. The 3-ship booster has tough plywood mounts for the
Elcie's that will last flight after flight. You can build it easily the night
before your student session. Even if you're a beginner yourself, you'll
have no problem guiding your children through a thrilling new experience.

Using Edmonds Aerospace Kits with Youth
|
|
Only a very simple setup is required for the construction area. The
children do not need to cut any parts out, so knives are not required (a
couple of kits briefly use scissors or sandpaper). All assembly can
be completed with any glue that works on wood, such as basic Elmers white
glue, or yellow glue from the hardware store. If the kids want to decorate
their models (and they always do), I recommend that they take out the felt
tip markers. Paint makes the models heavy and the flight less enjoyable.
For flying, any standard model rocket launcher with a 1/8" rod will
do. For the Elcie G-pack and the little Tinee's, you can complete flights
successfully in almost any school athletic field, for CiCi's or Delties being
flown with larger motors, you may need an area equivalent to several adjacent
soccer fields, or to wait for a relatively calm day.
If you are trying to set a budget for your activity and need to include
the cost of rocket motors in your calculation, count on the mini-motors
used by the Deltie and Tinee to be just over a dollar each, and the standard
motors used by the CiCi to be around a dollar and a half (of course, large
motor manufacturer Estes Industries can probably offer you a bulk discount
on a large order of motors.
